Elliot Health System Provides Continuity of Care Through Delivering an EMR Strategy
Elliot Hospital has recently implemented a flexible physician outreach strategy that will allow physicians with any EMR system to care for patients with Elliot Health data. They are currently interfacing with additional offices running Allscripts and GE Centrity EMR’s, and are in the process of beginning a new series of interfaces to two other large practices, one running a Misys EMR and the other, a MediNotes EMR. The new EMR strategy, supported by Accenx Technologies, Inc. (RyTRAK HIE), electronically delivers general lab, pathology and cytology results to those physician EMRs, meeting physicians’ high demand of real-time clinical information, while offering Elliot Health System, as well as the healthcare community the extraordinary benefits of a connected healthcare. Such benefits include an opportunity of bi-directionality of data so that Elliot may extract key ambulatory data and deliver it to the doorstep of physicians. In turn, physicians are able to provide more efficient and higher quality of care to patients. In addition, health systems, such as Elliot Health System, are remaining competitive with the National Labs in the race to win physician loyalty and other additional business opportunities that may follow.
The Accenx solution, RyTRAK HIE, implements a secure, encrypted connection between health systems and remote and disparate physician practices. It is delivered via the Software as a Service (SaaS) model which helps healthcare organizations eliminate the high cost of implementing yet another technology, including high licensing; support and development costs; IT staff resources for training, implementation, and support of the application; network and hardware acquisition and support costs; and on-going monitoring and maintenance of the connectivity with the participating practices. |
