Hampden County Physician Associates, LLC are Excited to Receive Lab Results from Baystate Reference Laboratories
Hampden County Physician Associates, LLC is excited at the opportunity to partner with Baystate Reference Laboratories (BRL) with the support of Accenx Technologies. Recently, Hampden County Physician Associates, LLC have been planning out the implementation of their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to create an interface that would begin to send patient laboratory information directly to the ordering physician in a much more timely and efficient manner.
With the new implementation, no longer does the office or physician wait for paper results, and are now receiving results in real-time. Labs are stored within the EMR and can be viewed by the physician on-line at any time without requesting the patient’s chart. As the results build within the EMR, the physician will be able to graph out the results for trending or comparison.
In addition, staff no longer has to separate out and deliver the paper lab results to the physician. The interface created has eliminated the need to file lab results back in the patient’s chart; and annotations of any sort or callbacks to patients on the lab results can be electronically noted and viewed by clinical staff. Staff no longer has to search for this information, and can spend their time focused on patients in the office.
The interface created by Accenx Technologies, Inc. has been a tremendous impact on improving the efficiency of receiving lab results from BRL. According to John Camus, Vice President of Operations, knowing that BRL had chosen Accenx Technologies as an outside vendor was very comforting because Accenx’s RyTRAK-HIE is truly a value-creating solution. John relates the success of this project and interface with BRL to Accenx’s knowledge and expertise to not only complete the project at hand, but also to work well with the customer to keep them updated on the progress of the project, and ensure them on the delivery of the interface in conjunction with the implementation of the EMR application. According to John Camus, Accenx Technologies was able to accomplish all of that.
