Baystate Health System Purchases RyTRAK HIE to Improve the Continuity of Care
September 29, 2005, Irvine CA - Accenx Technologies, Inc. a leader in business activity monitoring and integration solutions, and provider of the RyTRAK Software Suite, announced today that Baystate Health System of Springfield, MA, has purchased RyTRAK HIE (Ambulatory Collaboration Module) to execute the Physicians Alignment Initiative and establish an electronic process for exchanging information between Baystate and the 600+ physician offices affiliated with the health system.
“A proven solution, RyTRAK HIE will enable us to establish better continuity of care between the hospital and physician office, to reduce medical errors, increase patient safety and optimize the patient experience,” shares Wayne LaBranche, Integration Architect, Baystate Health System.
Previously using fax technology and the US mail service to deliver patient results to physician offices, RyTRAK HIE will assist Baystate in taking the next step in creating a regional medical record. RyTRAK HIE is an inexpensive, customizable solution for exchanging electronic information to and from physician offices. RyTRAK HIE’s push and pull technology will enable Baystate to send results and receive orders securely, without opening up physician offices to security risks.
Baystate created the Physician’s Alignment Initiative in response to physician offices desire to move to an EMR to maximize efficiency. With RyTRAK HIE, Baystate will be able to provide physicians, who are sending their patients to use their reference labs or ancillary systems, an easy, inexpensive, non-intrusive way to receive results from the hospitals facilities into their office records, without having to buy or install new software. RyTRAK HIE eliminates paper, extended wait times, lost faxes, lost mail and dependence on couriers for time sensitive results.
“Most hospitals and physician offices still share information through a paper based system, despite the fact that it is prone to errors, time consuming and inefficient, because the costs of integration and implementing a new PMIS are overwhelming and beyond reach,” explains David Cheng, CEO and President, Accenx Technologies, Inc. “Now hospitals and physician offices can exchange information electronically, without having to purchase new systems or implement new processes, at a price they can afford with RyTRAK HIE, increasing patient safety and improving the patient experience.”
